|SAIS-SSLS 2003 Joint Workshop|
|Call for Papers||April 10-11, 2003 - University or Örebro, Sweden|
Submit your Group Poster!
For the first time, the Swedish Artificial Intelligence Society (SAIS) and the Swedish Society for Learning Systems (SSLS) will merge their yearly meeting into one. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Learning Systems (LS) share the same historical background and in spite of many years of limited communication, these two fields are beginning to find each other again.
This workshop will provide an ideal forum to establish contacts between the different Swedish research groups working on AI and on LS, as well as between industry and academia. There are many potential applications of industrial interest, that still remain locked in academical institutions and never reach the market.
The workshop will be held at Örebro University on April 10-11, 2003. The program will feature invited presentations, PhD student presentations, group posters, and the SAIS award for best masters thesis. The workshop will be co-located with the SAIS and SSLS annual meetings.
There are a number of research groups in Sweden focusing on Artificial Intelligence and/or Learning Systems. The aim of this first joint workshop for the AI and LS societies is to bring these groups closer together and to create a stronger national community in these fields. We strongly encourage ALL research groups active in these fields to introduce themselves and their research to the community by showing a group poster at the workshop.
Groups are invited to submit, by March 21, 2003, a poster submission form in the format of a email message containing the following information:
Name of the research group Affiliation Group web page Name, address, and email of contact person Main research areas (3-5 keywords)
The message should be sent, as ASCII text, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All posters will be accepted, limited to one poster per group, but please make sure to send the above information by the dealine since we need to allocate appropriate time and space resources. Posters are expected to present summary information about the group: you are of course welcome to bring leaflets and papers with you if you want to provide more detailed information. The main thing is that we meet and get to know each-other!
We strongly encourage all Swedish researchers to present and discuss their work at the workshop. Submissions from PhD students are especially encouraged, including work which is at a preliminary stage, so that students have a unique opportunity to discuss ideas and obtain feedback from other researchers in the field. Since this is a specialized workshop with a limited audience, submission of papers which have been already published or are under review elsewhere is possible.
Submissions are welcome in the form of full length papers (max 8 pages) or extended abstracts (2 pages). Submissions must be sent by e-mail to email@example.com by February 10, 2003, as either a PDF or PS file. Other, non-standard formats (e.g., Word) cannot be accepted. In the body of the e-mail message, please specify the following:
Paper title Name, affiliation, and email of all authors Name, email, and postal address of corresponding author Phone and fax of corresponding author Keywords (max 5) Abstract (maximum 200 words)
All submissions will be acknowledged within a few days. Papers will be reviewed for quality and relevance and the decision of acceptance will be mailed to the corresponding author. Accepted papers will be included in the workshop notes, distributed at the workshop, and published on the workshop's web site. At least one author of each accepted paper must attend the workshop.
