|December 13th: The Return of the Light|
|The time when AI and Robotics rejoin... maybe!|
The event will take place in the city of Örebro, central Sweden, on December 12-14, 2012. We will start by a working dinner at the restaurant Stadsträdgården on December 12th. The actual workshop will take place at Örebro Castle, in the city center, on December 13th and 14th.
All guests will stay at Stora Hotellet, just in front of the Castle. The hotel is at walking distance both from the main train station (Örebro Central) and from the Stadsträdgården restaurant.
A map of Örebro showing all the relevant locations is available here.
How to reach Örebro. Most of you will arrive at Stockholm Arlanda airport and have a train ticket to Örebro. In most cases, you first go from Arlanda airport to Stockholm Central station by the Arlanda Express train, and then catch another train from Stockholm Central to Örebro Central. The Arlanda Express trains leave from inside the aiport, there are clearly marked elevators and escalators from both terminals 2 and terminal 5. (Most international airlines arrive at terminal 5). Arlanda Express trains go every 15 minutes; you can use your Arlanda Express ticket on a train leaving before or after the indicated time if you wish. There are no stops between Arlanda airport and Stockholm central station. Once in Stockholm, look for your train to Örebro: this is often on tracks 5, 6, 7 or 8. The final destination might be Göteborg or Hallsberg, but Örebro will also be marked as one of the main stops. You probably have a reserved seat: the coach ("Vagn") and seat ("Plats") are marked on your ticket, together with the departure ("Avgång") and arrival ("Ankomst") times. In case of problems: don't panic! Almost everyone in Sweden speaks English, and people are kind and helpful. If you have problems at Arlanda (e.g., your flight is late) go to the SJ desk (SJ is the Swedish railway company) located at "Sky City" in the middle of the airport. If you have problems at Stockholm central station, go to the SJ ticket and information office. Remember that in Sweden your train ticket is a binding contract for SJ: if there is a problem, they will find a way to get you to your destination anyway!

in the lobby of Stora hotellet.
We'll walk together from there to the restaurant, or take cabs if the weather is too bad.
The purpose is to get to know each other. Also, during the dinner the goals, methods and program of the event will be presented, discussed and agreed.
