Hi there,
I am a Ph.D. student at the AASS Mobile Robotics and Olfaction Lab. Born and raised in the Austrian Alps, I moved to the Mid-Swedish flatlands to start my research in dexterous manipulation with robotic hands as part of the HANDLE project.
I was born in 1981 in Tamsweg, Austria. After attending a secondary college for timber industry and doing my military service, I joined the University of Technology in Graz, Austria. From 2005 to 2007 I was employed as an undergraduate assistant at the Institute of Mechanics, where I was involved in the teaching of Technical Mechanics, as well as in the institute's research activities. In 2009 I graduated with a diploma degree in "Mechatronics in Mechanical Engineering", focusing on robotics and control theory. One semester of my studies, I spent at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. In the course of my diploma thesis, I developed a 3-axis Pick & Place - robot with high dynamics. During this time, I worked as a freelancer at M&R Automation in Graz, Austria. Since September 2009 I've been working as a Ph.D. student at the Centre of Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems (AASS), Örebro University.
